WHY THIS HANDBOOK WAS WRITTEN
This handbook was written to tell the story of John, Mary, Sally and Michael, and
to learn from their life experiences.
John and Mary were High School sweethearts. They loved each other dearly and,
early on, they always knew that they would spend the rest of their lives together.
In their early 20’s, they finally made it official – they got married. In a few years
time, they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Sally. A few years later, their
loving son Michael.
John and Mary were young and healthy. They worked hard and saved every
penny to make a life for themselves and their family. After years of planning and
saving, they were finally able to purchase a nice home for their growing family.
But, John and Mary’s lives did not follow the path they planned.
Coming home from a holiday party one day, John and Mary’s car was hit head-on
by a drunken driver. Neither John nor Mary were able to survive the collision.
Fortunately, Sally and Michael were safely home asleep at the time.
This handbook is dedicated to those families that have gone through the same
types of experiences.
