Handbook
THE ROLE OF TRUSTS
Trusts are very important and flexible legal instruments. There are many different
types of Trusts and for many different purposes. They can be a little harder to
understand at first, but they can be invaluable in helping you to accomplish your
life and estate planning goals.
In our handbook, we’ve discussed Revocable Living Trusts for avoiding probate,
as well as Credit Shelter Trusts for avoiding estate taxes, and Child's Trusts to
manage property for one's minor children. Although there are many other types,
variations and combinations of Trusts, we will not be able to discuss them all
here. Just be aware, however, that if you have a special need or concern there
may very well be a Trust designed for that purpose.
