Questions:  What is an Ethical Will?

Answer:  An Ethical Will is a document that can help you pass along something that is even
more important than your possessions or wishes concerning your estate.  It passes on your
values, ethics, morals and memories.  The Ethical Will is a valuable “closure” document and
a wonderful gift to those you care about.  It’s intended audience is the current generation but
also the many generations to come.

The Ethical Will is not a legal document.  It does not replace the Traditional Will or the other
end-of-life documents that address specific legal, financial and medical needs.  The Ethical
Will, instead, is an expression of who you are and what you want to be remembered for.
