Pro Bono NYWills Project
As part of our community assistance and outreach effort, NYWills will take on a number of estate planning projects on a pro bono (without charge) basis. In these projects, a New York Lawyer will prepare an estate planning legal document for you, without charge, if you meet the qualification criteria.
Pro Bono Legal Documents - New York Will - New York Living Will - New York Health Care Proxy - New York Power of Attorney
Qualification Criteria - You reside in New York State. - You are age 65 or older, of sound mind and judgement, and are unable to afford the services of a local New York Lawyer - You (or someone on your behalf) must be able to correspond with us and be able to follow the instructions we provide. - You must provide a letter or email from a local, non-profit community organization that attests to your suitability for this pro bono project.
Note: Due to the volume of requests, we may only be able to provide you with one of the above documents, or none at all, depending on the priority assigned to your request. As an alternative, we also recommend that you contact your local bar association for the names of other local pro bono providers.
